Bali is one of the world's best family destinations. Kid-safe activities, spacious family villas, child-friendly restaurants, and warm Balinese hospitality that makes every child feel like a little prince or princess.
Plan Our Family TripBali is exceptionally family-friendly: the Balinese adore children, private pool villas are affordable, Waterbom is Asia's top water park, Sanur has calm toddler-safe beaches, and activities like the Monkey Forest and surf lessons engage every age group.
Bali is exceptionally welcoming to families with children. The Balinese adore children — in Balinese culture, children are considered gifts from the gods, and you will notice this warmth everywhere from restaurants where staff happily entertain your toddler to temple ceremonies where local families invite your kids to join in. This cultural warmth is not performative — it is genuine, and it transforms a family holiday from logistically stressful to genuinely joyful.
The island offers a remarkable range of activities that engage children of all ages. Toddlers love splashing in the shallow pools of family villas and playing on the calm beaches of Sanur and Nusa Dua. Primary-school-age children are captivated by the Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud (where long-tailed macaques swing through ancient banyan trees), the Bali Safari and Marine Park (home to over 100 species across African and Asian habitats), and the Waterbom waterpark in Kuta (consistently ranked among Asia's top water parks). Teenagers and older kids thrive with activities like surfing lessons in Kuta, white water rafting on the Ayung River, snorkelling in Amed or Nusa Penida, and ATV rides through rice terraces.
Accommodation is where Bali truly shines for families. Private pool villas — which would cost a fortune in most destinations — are remarkably affordable in Bali. A three-bedroom villa with a private pool, garden, kitchen, and daily housekeeping costs $150–300 per night in Seminyak or Ubud. Many villas include children's pools, baby cots, high chairs, and even dedicated babysitting staff. The space and privacy of a villa is incomparably better than cramming a family into a hotel room.
Health and safety for children require a few sensible precautions. Always apply sunscreen frequently (children burn faster in tropical sun), ensure they drink only bottled or filtered water, and use mosquito repellent containing DEET, particularly at dusk. Bali has excellent private hospitals with paediatric services — BIMC Hospital in Kuta and Siloam Hospital in Denpasar are both equipped to handle childhood illnesses and minor injuries. Bring a basic children's first aid kit with age-appropriate fever medication, plasters, and rehydration salts.

All-inclusive family packages with kid-friendly activities, villas, and private drivers.
We are parents too — we design family trips that actually work.
Our family itineraries are designed with realistic drive times, nap-friendly schedules, and activities that engage both children and adults. No 6 AM starts or 3-hour temple walks with toddlers.
Every villa and hotel we recommend is inspected for child safety — pool fencing, secure balconies, and clean facilities. Our drivers use child car seats upon request at no extra charge.
Need a date night in Seminyak? We arrange trusted, English-speaking babysitters and nannies through our vetted network. Rates start at approximately $8–12 per hour.
We know the best paediatric doctors and pharmacies in every area of Bali. If your child falls ill, one call to us and we arrange medical care immediately — no language barrier, no confusion.
